Arthur Graydon Woodland 12/31/1919 - 4/9/2011 passed away peacefully April 9, 2011 after a stroke on March 28, 2011. Art was born in Edmonton Alberta Canada where he grew up happily on the prairies of Alberta. When he was ready to enter University of British Columbia his family moved to Vancouver, B.C. There he earned a degree in Food Technology. On May 7, 1949 he married Elaine Latrell of Bremerton, WA. They made their home in Vancouver, BC where three sons, Craig, Dale and Mark were born. In 1967 Art was recruited by the Fisheries Department of United Nations for a position in Rome, Italy. The Woodland family spent six and half happy years in the Eternal City. Art then took a challenging field position, the South China Sea Program headquartered in Manila Philippines. This program covered the Fisheries of seven SE. Asian countries. After eight and half productive years Art retired and with his wife traveled Europe in a VW camper for a year before returning to the U.S. For 23 years Art and Elaine have been "snowbirds" spending winters in Tucson, AZ and summers in Bremerton, WA. Art was predeceased by two sons, Dale and Mark. He is survived by his wife Elaine of 62 years, and son, Craig; and two grandchildren, Lewis and Madeline. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bremerton, WA in the late spring. His ashes will be placed in a family plot near his two sons. MUSTAIN, Gordon B., 69, of Tucson died on April 13, 2011 of complications from lung cancer caused by Agent Orange exposure during his tour as a Marine in Vietnam. He was a jeweler and writer who owned Enchanted Earthworks Gallery for 22 years with his wife Val, who survives him. As a writer he won several awards for his short stories and published a number of novels including "Afterimages" and "Apache Tears" which he co-authored with his dearest friend Stoney Livingston. He wrote a series of poems after his cancer diagnosis in January called "Cancer Songs: Reflections on a Death Sentence" which his grandson Daniel Treat recorded and with daughter Melanie von Gunten has produced as a CD. He is also survived by daughter, Leslie Rich; granddaughter, Rachel Treat and great-grandsons Sailas, Kameron, Marquis, Josif and Alex. A Private Ceremony honoring Gordon's life will be held at his home in early May. Memorial donations can be made in his name to The Military Order of the, Service Foundation, Little River Turnpike, PO Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003. |

Jessy P. Andrews went to heaven peacefully April 11, 2011. Born in Bisbee, Arizona in 1922, she graduated from Tucson High in 1940. Graduated from the University of Arizona, a letterwoman in 1944. Seeing the need for dieticians in the military she joined the, November 1945. She served in the Phillipines, Okinawa and eventually transferred to San Antonio where she and her future husband William S. Andrews were commissioned captains on the same day. They were married in 1952 and she left the service in 1953 to start a family. Upon Bills death in 1969 she and her two kids, Cindy and Rocke moved back to Tucson. She was very active in service organizations and became Queen of Olana Temple, of the Daughters of the Nile. She and her mother Sylvia Powell traveled and served together on many groups. She is survived by sister, Meade Kelly; daughter, Cindy; son, Rocke and wife (Karen); their children, Lisa, Katie, and Bill, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jessy loved family, traveling. UA sports especially Homecoming and watching daughter Cindy play volleyball for the Wildcats, working out with Jeramy Price, San Diego, cooking and parties with her many friends, and time with Bill.
