Alice Marie Hall Swartz 90, a resident of Tucson and Oro Valley, passed away on April 5, 2011. A graduate of Florence Union High School. Alice, husband, Bill and children, Nancy and Tom lived in Vallejo, CA, Hawaii, Port Hueneme, CA, Rancho Vistoso and Desert Point, Oro Valley, AZ. Since August of 2010 she was a resident of Friendship Villas. Alice was an A+ homemaker. She excelled in sewing, needlework and cooking. She was an avid bridge player and won gold medals in Senior Games in bocci ball. She was married to William Ensley Swartz for 65 years. She has two children, Thomas William of Raleigh, North Carolina and Nancy S. Plumb of Peyton, Colorado; three grandchildren, five great-grandsons and a brother, David W. CAROL ANN BOCCANFUSO Carol Ann Boccanfuso, age 67, a 2-year resident of Bullhead City, passed away after a brave battle with Pancreatic cancer, on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in Bullhead City, Ariz. Carol, a retiree, was born on November 18, 1943, in New York, N.Y. She moved to Southern California in 1976 to raise her family. She recently relocated to Bullhead City to be closer to her daughter. In 1994, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 23 years, "Babe". Carlos M. Campuzano 72, passed away April 1, 2011, surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his wife, Minerva and parents, Lorenzo and Carmen Campuzano. Survived by his children, Carlos (Pauline), Yolanda (Nick), Loly (Frank), Hector (Veronica), Albert (Terry); his siblings, Carmen (Victor), Lorenzo Jr. (Ramona), Louie (Molly), Linda (Albert), Frank (Nita), Gilbert (Cynthia) and Oscar. Kay is survived by her daughter, Deborah Giangreco; son-in-law, Dr. Atilio Giangreco (Yuma); grandsons, Austin Burt (Palm Springs, CA) and Papo Giangreco; daughter-in-law, Tammy Davis; granddaughter, Shelbi Davis (Longmont, CO); sister, Claudette Kerr (Fort Stockton, TX); niece, Vicki Mitchell; nephew Tony Brooke (Fort Stockton, TX). Kay is also survived by many friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. Kay went by many aliases, "Grand Mimi," "Granny," "La Gran," and "Ms Texas.", Kay had many life experiences including being a hairstylist and working at Doctors offices. She loved her job at Giangreco Medical Group and gave all of her love to the patients. She lived all over the United States with her family and pets (especially her pet Javalina, Cecil). Kay enjoyed swimming, people, animals, painting, and above all she treasured her time with her grandchildren., Kay is a strong believer of organ donation. In the prime of her life she donated her kidney to her son, Roy Blake Davis who suffered from End Stage Renal Disease. By this donation she graciously gave him life by allowing him to marry the love of his life Tammy and welcome his precious baby girl Shelbi into the world. |

Jack C. Schneiker 87, of Tucson, husband of Belle Schneiker and a lifelong traveler, left without warning, taking his final trip on April 1, 2011. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and served proudly as a Sergeant in the Marines in the Pacific during, . In the early 50's he was the director of the International Relief Organization Children's Village in Bavaria for displaced orphans. Returning stateside he met and married Ruth Davis and they moved to Tucson in 1952. He started American International Travel soon after and enjoyed a thriving business until he retired in 1973. He was a 59 year member of the Elks. Since the mid-60's, Jack was an active member of the Family Motor Coach Association and later a life member also serving as National Director for many years; he was a developer of innovations for Revcon and Prevost motorhomes. He is survived by his wife, Belle; daughters, Mona Marks (Chris Seguine), Pam Marks (Peter Wholers); former wife, Ruth Schneiker; sons, Conrad and Henry; daughters, Katherine Tanner (Charles), Mary Ann Lawson (Fred) and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an older brother, Jacob and younger sister, Kate Marsden. Hoping to further medical science, he asked that his body be donated to UOFA WILLED BODY PROGRAM for research. LARRY DEAN HENDRICKSON Larry Dean Hendrickson, age 60, a 22-year resident of the Tri-state Area, and formerly of Crookston, Minn., died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at WARMC in Bullhead City, Ariz. Larry was born in Detroit Lakes, Minn., on May 28, 1950, to Arne and Edith (Mikulecky) Hendrickson. Larry attended elementary school in Waubun, Minn. and Mapleton, N. D., and in 1968, he graduated from Central High School in Crookston, Minn. Larry remained a resident of Bullhead City until eventually moving across the river to Laughlin, Nev. for the remainder of his years while working as a bartender at the former Ramada Express, now the Tropicana. Larry was well-liked and respected by those he met along life’s road. A gentle man with a great love and devotion to family, his music, and his daughters who put a sparkle in his eye. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Arne Hendrickson. Larry is survived by his two daughters, Heather (John) Lieber of Kansas City, Missouri, and Taylor of Laughlin, Nev; his mother, Edith Hendrickson of Crookston, Minn.; two sisters, Linda Havir of Minnetonka, Minn. and Cheryl (Larry) Froehlich of Crookston; three brothers, Dale (Joyce) Hendrickson of St. Michael, Minn., Miles (Teresa) Hendrickson of Bagley, Minn., and Kevin Hendrickson of Crookston; his grandparents; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. A memorial will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday April 4, 2011, in Room 285 in the Hospitality Suite of the Tropicanna Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nev. Lorna Kaye Hoover Ahern born on June 23, 1959, to Joan and Paul Robert Hoover of Farmington, New Mexico. The youngest of three daughters, Lorna devoted her life to helping others. Family, friends, children, and animals all flourished under her grace, support, and care. MAJOR DALE MARIOTT Major Dale Mariott, age 80, a 16-year resident of Bullhead City, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at his home in Bullhead City, Ariz. He was born October 8, 1930, in Paragould Ark., and was the youngest of nine children born to James and Margaret Mariott. After his graduation from Paragould High School in 1948, he earned an AA in Business Administration, and moved to Bakersfield, Calif. Major joined the Army for two years, and was stationed at Fort Meade, Md. After leaving the Army, Major worked for Hartford Insurance Company, eventually rising to the position of Regional Manager of the western states, based in Seattle, Wash.  After leaving The Hartford, he worked for California Insurance Group in Alameda, Calif. He married Fonda Lovene Liles of Light, Ark., in 1951, and they had two daughters, Jerri Mariott and Virginia Mariott-Cade. They divorced in 1993. In 1994, he met Ramona Bock, and she was his companion for 16 years. They moved to Bullhead City in 1995, and resided at Davis Camp. He is survived by his two daughters, Jerri Mariott and Virginia Mariott-Cade; three grandchildren, Cole Cade, Cassandra Cade, and David Silpa; and two sisters, Kitty Downey, and Peachy Evans. Robert Cameron "Cam" Balmain 59, of St. Mary's, WV died April 5, 2011 after a long illness. He passed away peacefully in the home where he grew up, in the community in which he was raised; with his wife, Karen by his side. They had returned to St. Mary's about a year ago from Arizona where they had made their home for several years. Cam was born January 31, 1952 in Toronto, Canada, a son of the late William P. and Lorraine Scholes Balmain. He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Sharon Balmain of Topeka, KS; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and J.J. Rosas of Marana, AZ and three granddaughters, Isabella, Alyissa and Janyissa Rosas all of Marana, AZ. His family and his granddaughters were the loves of his life. He is also survived by a sister, Carrie Olson and two brothers, Peter and John Balmain all of Texas; a special nephew, Joshua Balmain and four nieces. Balmain was a 1969 graduate of St. Mary's High School where he was active in many clubs. He attended West Virginia University in Morgantown and enjoyed keeping up with the WVU football program through TV. He served three years in the United States Air force, in the 57th Compound Repair Unit (TAC). He retired after 26 years of service from Hughes Aircraft (later Raytheon Missile Systems), as an electronic warfare system engineer. No services are planned. At his request his body was donated to the Human Gift Registry at WVU, Morgantown, WV. LEAVITT FUNERAL HOME, Parkersburg is assisting the family with local arrangements. DEMPLE, Roma Lee, 86, of Tucson, passed away on April 5, 2011. Survivors include her children, Mary Lee, Angela, Michael (Sheila), Loretta, Melissa (Mike) Henry; grandchildren, Aaron (Stefani), Kevin (Cassandra) and Dylan Chavez; great-grandchildren, Lana and Alyssa; one sister, Virginia, plus many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and her daughter, Valerie Jean. Visitation will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. |

Sharon Foster is at rest after passing away on April 5, 2011 at the age of 69. She is survived by her husband, Rich Foster; son, Cary and daughter-in-law, Michelle; grandchildren, Avery and Landon and her brother, Jack Palmer. She was born in Ontario, Canada, went to high school in San Bernardino and then began a 25 year career with the phone company which included jobs in Seattle, Portland, and ultimately Tucson. After retiring from the phone company, she worked in the legal field and at various call centers. Sharon fought her three-year battle with cancer with the help of the wonderful staff at Arizona Oncology and her husband, Rich. A Memorial Service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at the DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME, 3081 W. Orange Grove Rd., at 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2011. |

Tom C. (T.C.) Workman 81, went to his cabin in the sky, the early morning of March 19, 2011, at his home in Lake Havasu City, after a battle with Parkinson's. Born in El Campo, TX, November 19, 1929, then nine months later the family came to Tucson. He attended, University Heights, Doolen Jr. High and graduated from Tucson High School in 1947. Then became a Naval reservist for four years. His work history started when he was young, working at Lily Ice Cream for his cousin F.A. Anthis, Southern AZ Bank, Hughes Aircraft and retired as foreman from Cyprus Pima Mine after 25 years in 1986. He was then able to say "he could work at a job he could afford" as a crossing guard at Rio Vista Elementary. This gave him the time and opportunity to travel, fish and spend time at his cabin in Pinetop. During his lifetime he belonged to, Jaycees, Moose Lodge and Elks, as a lifetime member. Preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Susan. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn; sisters, Violet Arnold and Mary Workman; three children, Melanie (Don) Ulliman, Tom and Diane (Al) Rodriguez; eight grandchildren and a dozen great-grandchildren. All of whom were fortunate enough to experience his love and devotion to family. The family invites you to his Memorial Service presided by his sister Rev. Mary at First Christian Church, 740 E. Speedway, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers make a donation to the charity of your choice. Arrangements handled by LIETZ FRAZE FUNERAL HOME. |
