Annette (Nina) Louise Adamoff beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother died in Tucson, Arizona on April 11, 2011. Nina was born in Passaic, New Jersey on July 6, 1922 to Ida and Joseph Kamen. Nina lived her whole life in Passaic except for the last six years when she moved to Tucson. Nina was predeceased by her husband, Oscar J. Adamoff. She leaves behind her daughter, Judi Botwin (Michael) of Tucson, AZ; her son, Jeffrey Adamoff of Carlsbad, CA; her granddaughter, Aileen Kelton (Doug) of Mesa, AZ and her great- granddaughters, Allison and Isabella Kelton. Nina's humor, good natured spirit and love she had for everyone will be missed by all. Beulah Ruby Clinch Jordan loved and treasured by all, departed for heaven on April 9, 2011 at St. Joseph's Inpatient Hospice in Tucson. She was born April 26, 1924 in Nacozari, Sonora. She lived a bicultural life as a dual citizen of Mexico and the United States. Previously of Douglas, she resided in Tucson for the last 35 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Louie Jordan in 2003. She is survived by sons, Andy (Jennie), Mark, Stan and daughters, Eileen and Cynthia (John) and 11 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. Visitation from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Rosary recited at 1:00 p.m. Mass will follow at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1275 S. Camino Seco at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. Born March 4, 1917 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of Laura (Berry) and Elbert H. Folkins. Married for 72 years, he is survived by his wife, Ann H. (Gallaher) Folkins; his daughters, Faye (Dick) Miltenberger and Cheryl (Vince) McGinniss; son, Chuck (Mary) Folkins; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters. Choosing Tucson as the place to set roots and raise a family, he attended the University of Arizona; worked as a clerk for the US Post Office and was skilled as an electrician and plumber. Highlights in his life included travel, especially the cross-country hitchhiking trip of his youth; enthusiasm for ethnic cuisine; his black-belt in Judo; his empathy toward abandoned animals, especially cats; and his dedication to family and friends. David Warren Powell of Tucson, Arizona, born August 18, 1941 in Los Angeles, California, died on April 8, 2011. David was a kind and gentle spirit who was beloved by his friends and family. He was a businessman, author, mentor, chef and best friend to his lovely wife, Susan. David was a proud, decorated, combat Marine who served with the 7th Marines in Viet Nam. David was a Black Belt Karate champion. He was the author of "My Tour In Hell: A Marines Battle With Combat Trauma". David went on with his writing hoping to make a difference in the world up to his last breath. His second book "REBOOT: Confronting PTSD on Your Terms" will be published posthumously. David's memory lives on through his devoted wife, three cats, sister and brother-in-law, Carl and Susan Ramsower, extended family and his many friends. Esther Lopez Foust 8/14/1923 – 4/8/2011 Passed away peacefully on April 8, 2011 after a short illness in Tucson. Born August 14, 1923 in Bowie, Arizona to Pablo and Guadalupe Sanchez Lopez and moved to Tucson as a child. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Esther graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing and became a LPN and was employed by Pima County Hospital where she retired after 20 years of dedicated service. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harry Foust; her parents, Pablo and Guadalupe Sanchez Lopez; sisters, Teresa Federico, Mary Majalca, Marina Moran and brothers, Raul Lopez and Severo Lopez. Esther is survived by her two sons, David (Georgene) and John Mark of Tucson; two grandsons, Chip (Sue) Foust, Tucson, AZ and Scott (Cheryl) Foust of Gilbert, AZ and three great-grandchildren, Tripp Foust of Tucson, Michael and Katy Foust of Gilbert, AZ and is also survived by sister, Pauline and brothers, Aurelio (Delia) and Ray (Beatrice) along with many nieces and nephews. RESSDORF, Hans H., June 13, 1918 - April 6, 2011. Hans left us after a long bout of poor health and now is home with his Lord and Savior. Hans was born in Mulheim, Germany. Hans was a very creative man. He was very involved in oil painting and studied under well-known impressionist Paul Dahlen and George Martin. He spent seven years in the German Army and 14 months as a POW in Scotland. In 1949, he immigrated to the United States. He settled in New Jersey and there began working in building, architectural design, and painting. In 1967 he met Joan, his wife and in 1972 he moved his family to Colorado Springs where he built McDonalds restaurants. After retirement, he went back to his passion of painting. His work was influenced by God's handiwork and reflected both European and Southwest flavor. Hans has been greatly recognized in the art community receiving the prestigious University Women of America, George Phippen Memorial awards and many others. Hans lived his life to the fullest. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made friends where ever he went. His is survived by Joan, his wife of 43 years; his children, Bruce Swinarton and Jody Freeland; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. SENOR, Isaac Irving, it is with a saddened heart that Isaac, our father, grandfather and friend, died on April 1, 2011. He was laid to rest on April 3, 2011 in Evergreen Cemetery. Isaac tread lightly on this Earth. He was a gentle man who lived a full and rich life. Isaac was born in Salonika Greece. At the age of 16, the Nazis sent his entire family to Concentration camps. This is where Isaac spent the next several years until liberation. Over the course of the war, Isaac was in five different concentration camps. During this time, he was forced in to heavy labor. Isaac survived the camps but the rest of his family did not. He was liberated from Dauchau, Germany May 5, 1945. Isaac met his future wife on the day of liberation. They were married for over 54 years. They came to the United States and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1949 where they raised three daughters. Isaac was a Design Supervisor with the Leather Specialty Company. After raising a family and retiring after many years of employment, he and his wife moved to Tucson, Arizona to be near two of his three daughters. Isaac was busy in his retirement spending a lot of time with his grandchildren, speaking to schools about his experiences in the Holocaust, and pursuing a degree at Pima Community College. Isaac completed the coursework to receive an Associates of Science Degree. His post secondary degree was a great source of pride and accomplishment as a college education was such a priority for his own children. There was no better father than Isaac. He was a warm, devoted and fun-loving parent. He worked hard every day and provided his family with a comfortable and secure life. His children grew up knowing that they were loved. Throughout his life, Isaac would tell family and friends, "I don't hate anyone…that makes your heart bitter. Always remember there is hope no matter what you are going through". These have been wise words to live by from a man who experienced the unimaginable and went on to live an honorable and valuable life. He is survived by daughters, Lynne Farbman, Molly Senor and Doris Senor Woltman; grandchildren, Eric Farbman, Zachary Cohen, Sheila Cohen, Brendan Woltman and Lauren Woltman. Manuel Corral Rodriguez was born in Tucson in 1925. He passed away April 9, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucia (Chavez); his children, Luis (Jill), Estevan, Lucia M. (Steve), Rodrigo; grandchildren, Jacob, Luis, AnaLydia, Emilio and Layla; his sister, Elena Martinez (Arturo) and brother, Arnoldo (Hortencia); nieces, Liz Miller (Marc) and Ruth and nephew, Xavier (Maggie); as well as a large extended family of several generations of nephews, nieces and God-children. Manuel was extraordinarily hardworking and generous in many ways. He led an active and prosperous life. He served honorably in the, during, and participated in the invasions of the Marshall Islands, Siapan, Tinian, Peleliu and Iwo Jima. Along with his wife, Lucia he ran a successful plumbing contracting business. He was a proud, active and lifelong member of the Plumbers' Union. Manuel was recognized as a leader in affordable housing, community development and workers' rights. He encouraged everyone to pursue an education. An avid sportsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, baseball, boxing and poker. His love of family and friends was unwavering. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Cathedral at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 with interment immediately following at Holy Hope Cemetery. Marlene Smith 12/30/1920 - 4/6/2011 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marlene Smith, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2011, at the age of 90. She was born on December 30, 1920 in New Cambria, Kansas to John and Mary Sullivan. She was one of five daughters and the only one to attend high school. After receiving her diploma, she moved to California where she married Harold Hickling and raised three children, Richard Hickling of Tacoma, WA, Pat Storey of Tucson and Beverly Barham of Silverton, OR. Marlene began working for Bank of America in May 1960, and after having a successful career as a Loan Officer, she retired in December 1985 after serving 25 years with them. After being single for many years and enjoying ballroom dancing, Marlene met Raymond Smith at a dance when he swept her off her feet, and they were married in 1978. After 31 years of marriage, Ray passed away in January 2010. They were living in California until they moved to Reno, NV in 1992, and in September 2008, they moved to Tucson to be close to their daughter and son-in-law, Al and Pat Storey. Besides Marlene's three children, she was also loved by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Our family would like to thank the staff at La Canada Care Center for providing a loving and caring home for our mother during her last year. Peter Henry Dittiger, Sr. went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2011. He was born in Newark, NJ on September 6, 1931. In 1952 he moved out west to Tucson, AZ for health reasons. He worked as a drywall finisher for over 45 years and he taught his trade to his sons, who are to this day still active in the profession. Pete married the love of his life, MaryAnn Carroll on September 19, 1959. Pete is preceded in death by both his parents, Peter G. and Rose M. Dittiger; his brother, Joseph Dittiger and his grandson, Stephen Mahaffey. He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn and their seven children, Peter Jr. (Tina), Joe (Sandy), Kathy (Tim), Mary (David), Robert (Joanne), Deborah and William (Arcy). Pete is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Peter III, Faline, Ashley (David), Renee (Mike), Jon, Sarah, Ryan, Joseph, Julia, James, Andrew, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Colette, Isabella and Daniel. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Cadence, Sierra, Michael, Anthony and Delaney. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Derstine (Roy) and Betty Dunham (Bob). Pete was an avid outdoorsman and he shared this passion with his children. Every summer they could be found on the banks of the Black River enjoying the fishing and scenery. He loved his wife and family, and he will be missed by all! A Mass celebrating his life will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Lung Association in Pete's name. Stanley A. Nemec was born November 29, 1923 on April 9, 2011 he went home to his Lord and Savior. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas for 36 years, where he leaves many lifelong friends. Stan was a past member of the, and The Model A Ford Club. Stan was married to Tina Glenn Nemec (deceased) for 47 years. Stan is survived by many, who love him. His immediate family: daughter, Cynthia (Chuck) Gibson; his grandson, Ryan Lloyd; his precious great-grandson, Corey Lloyd; his sister, Ruby Greenwell; his brother, Leonard (Carol) Nemec. He is preceded in death by his oldest brother, John Nemec. Stan's next family, Joy Granillo who loved and cared for him for over five years. Joy's son, Bob Granillo; his daughter, Cryssie (Mathew) Ehrlich and Joy's treasured great-grandson, Conner Ehrlich. Stan's additional family with whom he had many cherished adventures, David and Janet Hand and their four wonderful children, Stephanie, Curtis, Nicole and Dawson. Stan leaves many nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service for Stan at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., lunch to follow. We wish to thank the talented, loving, caring people at Hospice Family Care. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the, Memorial and Honor Program. Stan was a respectful, professional, loving, giant of a man who will be greatly missed and forever loved. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY. |

MONROY, Tony G., "Sancudo," 70, passed away in Tucson, AZ on Saturday, April 9, 2011. He was born in Tucson, December 26, 1940, Mr. Monroy was a heavy equipment operator at the Christmas Copper Mine from 1966 to 1982. He was a person who loved life, joking with people to make them laugh and being so very kind that friends for him were many. Three sons survive, Robert (Kim) of Dripping Springs, Felix (Stephanie) and Brandon (Jessica), both of Hayden. There also remain four sisters and three brothers, Carol Moreno, Melissa and Monique Monroy, Frances Grijalva with Henry Grijalva, David and Henry Monroy, each of Tucson. There are 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Predeceased are Tony's parents, Roberto and Maria Monroy. Private family services to be held. GRIFFITH MORTUARY assisted the family. |
